About Silverleaf Woodworking

Silverleaf Woodworking was started in 2002 by Seth Walter.  A graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a professional woodworker with over 10 years of woodworking experience, he has been passionate about wood his entire life.  Starting in his grandfather's basement with handsaws and not sharp chisels, he quickly became enthralled with building objects from wood.  More recently, his work has been featured in the prominent magazines Furniture and Cabinetmaking and Woodwork.

Through the years Seth has become masterful in his ability to design and build bespoke furniture, custom cabinetry, and interior trim.  Paying close attention to wood selection, grain matching, and structural design, he produces beautiful pieces that you will be able to pass on to others for years to come.

As a custom maker, Seth works closely with customers to meet their every requirement beyond a piece's dimension.  He will use sustainable North American hardwoods or reclaimed materials if conservation is an issue, avoiding sheet goods (plywood) containing formaldehyde, or even using or avoiding specific finishing products when allergies are an issue.  Any and all concerns can be accomodated with your project.

When not working in his custom built shop in South Windsor, Connecticut, Seth is involved with a number of professional woodworking organizations including The Furniture Society, the Connecticut Woodworkers Guild, and CustomMade an online marketplace for bespoke furniture makers.
